In pics: Egypt, Russia continue 'Protectors of Friendship 5' military drills

CAIRO – 25 October 2021: Egyptian and Russian troops still continuing the 'Protectors of Friendship 5' joint military drills that kicked out on October 20.

 

The joint Egyptian-Russian military exercise went on with the participation of joint paratroopers at the special training field of the Egyptian Airborne Corps.

The paratroopers' drills include the deployment of troops, equipment and vehicles, and the exchange of experiences.

 

The drills are expected to last until October 29, encompass many activities, topped by the implementation of landing operations for personnel, their equipment and vehicles.

Over the past days, the participating troops conducted firearms and jump training from conventional and non-conventional positions.

 

The exercise seeks to promote strategic cooperation and expertise sharing between the Egyptian Armed Forces and Russian counterparts, it also aims at boosting strategic military cooperation between Egypt and Russia, is one in a series of joint military exercises by Egyptian Armed Forces and troops from several friendly countries with the objective of developing military capabilities and combat skills.
