CAIRO - 10 July 2017: Minister of Agriculture Abdel Moneim el Banna necessitated on Monday the importance of monitoring the agricultural pesticide market and all agricultural production requirements to maintain plant wealth and human health in Egypt.

This came during a meeting of Banna with head of agricultural pesticide committee and directors of the central pesticide laboratory to assess the status of the agricultural pesticide market in Egypt.

A draft law is being prepared to stiffen punishment of using unlicensed pesticides, Banna said, adding that the health of Egyptian citizen and securing food always come first.

Programs will be set up to get farmers and citizens acquainted with the safe use of pesticides and preventive measures to maintain the health of Egyptians
