CAIRO – 23 October 2021: President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama on Saturday, where they both agreed on regular political consultations during Albania’s non-permanent membership at the Security Council.

Sisi said he appreciates the friendly and historic ties of the two countries at the level of governments and people. He added that he looks forward to further cooperation with Albania in different fields and forums.

He also congratulated Albania on its non-permanent membership at the Security Council in 2022-2023.

The Egyptian president highlighted the agreement of his country and Albania on most regional and international issues and the “positive coordination” at different international forums.

He emphasized political consultations with the Albanian side, especially considering the Albanian efforts in the Balkans towards peace, stability, and regional integration to achieve prosperity for the nations of the region. He also pointed to its active role in tackling some international crises.

Earlier, Rama met with his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly, where three agreements on cultural cooperation were signed and establishing direct flight from Cairo to Tirana was discussed.
