74 Cairo University professors listed among top 2% of scientists globally

CAIRO – 23 October 2021: Cairo University President Mohamed Othman el-Khosht announced that 74 professors at the university were added to the list of the top 2 percent of scientists around the world.

 

This step made Cairo University ranked first in Egypt for the second year in a row, with the largest number of scientists.

 

The President of Cairo University said, in a statement, that the list of the best scientists around the world, which was published in October last year, included 55 scientists from Cairo University, and this year it achieved a progress rate of 34 percent after it included 74 scientists from the university, confirming the superiority of Cairo University in the fields of classification. The university is one of the top 1% at the level of international universities, and it is ahead of major international universities in the prestigious international rankings and outperforms a number of universities in Europe, America and Asia.

 

Dr. Mohamed El-Khosht congratulated Cairo University scientists, who were included in the list of the top 2 percent of world scientists in various major and sub-disciplines, praising their efforts in scientific research and the educational process, and for raising the name and position of Cairo University in international forums.

 

Al-Khosht explained that this distinction of Cairo University in Egypt, regionally and globally, is the result of a clear plan that has been developed, in addition to developing the quality of scientific research published internationally.

 

The results of the list of the composite index of the top 2 percent of scientists of their main subfield discipline around the world were published in the monthly journal PloS Biology.

 

This list includes scientists from different countries in 22 diverse scientific fields and 176 sub-specialties.
