CAIRO - 19 October 2021: Minister of Transport Kamel El Wazir expressed on Tuesday Egypt's readiness to convey its expertise in the transport domain to sisterly Arab countries.

Addressing the inaugural meeting of the 34th session of the Arab transport ministers council under Jordan's chairmanship, the minister said his ministry's strategy is not restricted to the transport of passengers and goods but rather extends to strengthening the concept of participation in the state's sustainable development plans with the aim of striking a balance needed in the social, economic and environment requirements.

The minister said his ministry managed to achieve unprecedented progress in the field of transport during the past six years where the costs of the projects launched in the same period reached EGP1.6 trillion.

He pointed out to transport projects linking Cairo with the new cities including the electric express train and the monorail project along with bridges and axes projects which he said create job opportunities, support the economy and improve the life of citizens.

Wazir said that Egypt cooperates with Jordan and Iraq within the framework of a trilateral strategy to carry out joint projects and also cooperates with Gulf states and Arab Maghreb countries in the field of transport to promote cooperation in the trade and investment domains.
