Sisi affirms Egypt’s support to all measures aims at building ‘better future’ for Tunisian people

CAIRO – 6 October 2021:  Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi expressed, Wednesday Egypt’s support for the measures and efforts ofTunisia's President  Kais Saied, aimed at building a ‘better future’ for the brotherly Tunisian people and achieving stability in the country.

During a phone call, Sisi affirmed Egypt’s full readiness to harness all its capabilities in order to provide the necessary assistance in this framework to the brotherly Tunisian side in light of the distinguished bilateral relations Brotherhood between Egypt and Tunisia.

According to Presidency spokesperson, Ambassador Bassam Radi, Sisi offered his condolences to the Tunisian president and the Tunisian people for the death of three soldiers in a military helicopter crash Tuesday in Gabes, south-eastern Tunisia during a military exercise.

Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered on Wednesday its sincere condolences to the Tunisian government and people over the victims of the military helicopter crash.

In a statement, the Ministry prayed to God Almighty to bestow mercy upon victims’ soul.

Tunisia’s National Defence Ministry said that a technical committee will investigate into the reasons behind the helicopter crash, that occurred in the El Hamma region, in the Gabes governorate.

According to Tunis Afrique Presse, an investigation has also been initiated by the military justice into the helicopter crash.
