Egypt’s Sisi wishes Jordanian Crown Prince a speedy recovery from COVID-19

CAIRO - 30 September 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi made a phone call on Wednesday evening to Jordanian King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein to inquire after the health of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah after testing positive for Covid-19, said Egyptian Presidency in a statement.
 
“The President sincerely wishes His Highness a very speedy recovery and the royal family of Jordan good health and safety,” the statement said.
 
“The King of Jordan expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the President for this generous gesture, which reflects the spirit of brotherhood and the deeply-rooted relationship between the two countries. King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein also expressed his sincere wishes of goodness and prosperity to Egypt and its people,” the statement read.
 
The Royal Hashemite Court announced on September 27, 2020, that Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II tested positive for COVID-19, after undergoing the routine examination implemented as part of the regulations followed at the Royal Hashemite Court.
 
Crown Prince Al Hussein has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in very good health, the statement said.
 
Since then, King Abdullah and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, who both tested negative on Monday, have  self-quarantined for five days.
