CAIRO – 16 September 2021: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi greeted Thursday his Mexican counterpart Andres Obrador and Governor-General of Papua New Guinea Bob Dadae on the anniversary of their countries' independence day.

 

Mexico gained independence from Spain as a result of a war that lasted for 11 years between September 16, 1810 and September 27, 1821.

 

As for Papua New Guinea, it got independence from Australia on September 16, 1975 becoming a Commonwealth country.
