CAIRO - 12 September 2021: Iraq Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad Al-Halbousi will pay an official visit to Egypt on Tuesday, at an invitation of Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives Hanafi El Jebali, Iraqi newspaper El Sabah reported on Saturday.

Al-Halbousi will meet a number of Egyptian officials, within the framework of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially after the two recent visits of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to Iraq.

It is expected that Halbousi will sign an agreement with the Egyptian side to exchange experiences and hold training courses, the newspaper added.

The Iraqi-Egyptian relations have developed recently after the mutual visits between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.

In July 2021, President Sisi visited Iraq to be the first Egyptian presidential visit in 30 years, marked the beginning of a major partnership that may change the face of the region in the coming years.

In late August 2021, President Sisi participated in the “Baghdad Cooperation and Partnership” conference.
