Egypt’s Health minister warns of another hike in COVID-19 infections number by October

CAIRO – 9 September 2021: Egypt’s health Minster Hala Zayed warned that Egypt might wittiness a hike is Coronaviruses infections by the end of September and next October.

She added in statements to ON privet news channel, that the current number of infections was also expected several months ago with the biggening of the fourth wave of the pandemic, adding that another hike is expected by next month.

 Zayed has also reaffirmed that the state currently works on increasing oxygen strategic stock and tanks and healthcare beds and providing a new production line for medications.

she reiterated that a protocol has been developed for the treatment of the coronavirus cases with the best treatment services to overcome the pandemic.

Egypt would have suffered huge human losses during the outbreak of Covid-19, but the state's great efforts on treating hepatitis C virus and detecting chronic diseases helped overcome such losses, Zayed said.

The minister also underscored the state's efforts to save the lives of Egyptians and help them avoid being infected with the COVID-19.

The Health Ministry said that 343 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 290,027.

In a statement on Sunday, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 13 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,789.

As many as 549 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 241,964, he added.
