Egypt records 331 new coronavirus cases, 10 deaths in 24 hours

CAIRO - 5 September 2020: A total of 331 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 289,684, said the Egyptian  Health Ministry in a statement on Saturday evening. 


Meanwhile, ten patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,776, the statement said.

As many as 439 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 241,415, the statement added. 

 

Egypt has announced it has entered the fourth wave of Coronavirus as infection rates climbed up. The Ministry of Health also announced that five different vaccines are now available in nearly 539 vaccine centers across the country against coronavirus.

 

The Ministry explained that all of the five vaccines have emergency approvals from the Egyptian Medicines Authority. The vaccines are: Sputnik V, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Johnson& Johnson and Sinovac.

 

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, follow up on the situation first-hand regarding the virus, and take all necessary preventive measures.
