CAIRO – 9 July 2017: General Manager of Red Sea Reserves Authority Ahmed Ghallab said the authority is working on implementing a program that aims to face the phenomenon of the spread of jellyfish at Egypt's shores by protecting sea turtles.

In exclusive statements to MENA on Sunday, Ghallab said that the authority had launched an initiative, under the auspicious of Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy, that aims to protect sea turtles.

The initiative succeeded in protecting sea turtles in Egypt from extinction, he said.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) put sea turtle on the list of endangered species, Ghallab further said.

Jellyfish is considered a favorite food of most kinds of sea turtles
