CAIRO – 21 August 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi urged developing and making use of the research village in Toshka, as he met with officials on Saturday, so that it becomes a high-level research and training center, the Presidency said.

This aims to secure staff who are qualified to dealing with modern irrigation systems and advanced agricultural mechanization mechanisms, Sisi explained.

Agriculture Minister El Sayed El Qusair, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization of the Armed Forces Walid Abul-Magd, Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Mining, Management and Exploitation of Quarries and Salines Abdel Salam Shafiq and other military and army commanders attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the officials discussed future expansions of reclamation of desert lands in the country, especially in southern valley in Toshka and Eastern Owainat.

The meeting also discussed the project of comprehensive agriculture in the Siwa Oasis.

In this regard, Sisi urged achieving the optimum use of the natural resources in this area in coordination with the relevant bodies.

Also, during the meeting, the officials discussed the executive situation of the Egyptian Company for Mining, Management, and Exploitation of Quarries and Salines, especially regarding governing and restructuring the company.
