CAIRO – 15 August 2021: Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel went on a Wednesday visit to Ramallah and Tel Aviv as part of Egypt’s continuous efforts to push the peace process forward.

This is the second time President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has sent Kamel to the Palestinian territories and Israel, as Kamel was there in May following an Egypt-brokered ceasefire.

Israel’s aggression on Gaza in May was the worst in years. Egypt’s intense efforts with Israel, Hamas, and Fatah to reach a ceasefire garnered worldwide praise, and Egypt has since tried to take the tense calm to the level of peace.
