President Sisi greets Egyptians, Muslim world with new Hijri Year 1443

CAIRO – 9 August 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, greeted on Monday the Egyptian people and the Muslim world on the New Hijri Year 1443.

“I extend my sincere greetings to the Egyptian people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the new Hijri year. That glorious occasion that embodied the loftiest meanings of sacrifice in the love of the homeland and patience over the affliction and hardship of life.” Sisi tweeted.

He added: “I pray to God, on the anniversary of this blessed day, to preserve Egypt and its people, and that the Arab and Islamic nation and the whole world enjoy more goodness, security and stability.”

 

Egypt’s First Lady Entissar el-Sisi also greeted the Egyptian people and the Muslim world on the New Hijri Year.

In a statement Sunday night, Al Azhar University asserted that the Prophet Muhammad's migration from Mecca to Madinah Monawara had elevated the value of nation, adding that such occasion will remain a turning point in the history of Islam.

The university prayed to Allah to preserve the homeland and bless it with security, peace, safety and prosperity.

The Hijri [Islamic] lunar calendar consists of 12 months and 354 or 355 days. It starts with Muharram, which is a holy month in Islam, and ends with Dhu al-Hijjah.
