CAIRO – 24 July 2021: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday was briefed on the government efforts of renovating shrines of Ahl al-Bayt (the family of Prophet Muhammad) in Egypt
 
The shrines include major mosques of Sayyeda Nafisa, Sayyeda Zaynab, and Al Hussein, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi in a statement on Saturday.
 
President Sisi directed that the renovation work should include all the shrines’ interior yards, decorations, attached utilities, and streets surrounding them.
 
President Sisi’s directions were given during a meeting with Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ehab El-Far and other officials.
 
 
Minister of Awqaf (Endowment) Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa thanked President Sisi for looking after places of worship, especially the mosques of Ahl al-Bayt, according to a statement by the Ministry of Endowment.
