CAIRO – 22 July 2021: Sources at the Ministry of Health and Population told Al Watan newspaper on Thursday that the fourth wave of COVID-19 is estimated to begin late in September or early in October.

However, if 20 percent of the population is vaccinated beforehand, the death rate can drop by 88 percent during the fourth wave.

The sources added that Delta Plus variant is expected to enter Egypt, and that the ministry is working on modifying the COVID-19 treatment protocol to cope with such mutation. That is by adding more vitamins to boost the immunity.

It is noted that Delta Plus spreads fast having children as the most vulnerable group.
