CAIRO – 20 July 2021: Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El Sisi gave her best wishes to the Egyptian people and the Islamic nation for a blessed Eid al-Adha, which started on Tuesday worldwide.

“I send my best wishes to the Egyptian people and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, whose rituals are found in values of Islam’s message of tolerance, brotherhood and affection. I pray to Allah for His blessings on Egypt and its people,” she said on her Facebook page.

Also, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi wished the Egyptian people and the Islamic nation a happy Eid al-Adha on Tuesday.

“I’d like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Egyptians and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha, which is full of great meanings of sacrifice, artluism, and love,” said President Sisi on his Twitter account.

In a cable, President El Sisi wished Egyptian expatriates a happy E-id al-Adha, Al-Shorouk newspaper reported on Friday.

Eid Al-Adha is the most significant feast for Muslims worldwide, as it marks the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage) to the holy city of Mecca.

The Adha honors the day when Prophet Ibrahim -peace be upon him- was ordered to sacrifice his son, Ismael, and because of his obedience, God substituted Ismael with a ram, and this day has become a feast for Muslims since that day.

“And We have ransomed you with a mighty sacrifice” - Qur’an 37:107

In Islam, the sacrificed animal during Al-Adha is divided into parts, in order for the animal’s owner to be able to give a share of the meat to the needy people.
