CAIRO – 8 July 2017: Thirteen Egyptian governorates have prepared to receive the bodies of martyrs slain in North Sinai by the hands of terrorists on Friday: Sohag, Dakahliya, Kafr el-Sheikh, Gharbia, Ismailia, Fayoum, Sharqia, Minya, Alexandria, Asyut, Beheira, Damietta and Menoufia.

In Sohag, the governorate should receive two martyrs’ corpses within a few hours. The governor and security leaders of Sohag have mourned the two martyrs and expressed sincere condolences to their families.

The bodies of two martyrs will be received in Gharbia, where there will be a mass funeral led by governor General Ahmed Deif Sakr and military advisor to the Gharbia governorate Colonel Ahmed Yahya.

In Minya, thousands of Abu Qarqas city residents gathered for a mass funeral for martyr Farag Mohamed Mahmud. During the funeral, the masses chanted “Allah is Great…No God but Allah.”

The funeral witnessed the presence of many security and military leaders such as the military advisor of Minya governorate.

Appearing strong, the father of martyr Farag was seen chanting with the masses, “Thank God…Thank God.”

Early Friday, Egypt’s military forces killed at least 40 militants that attempted to attack several checkpoints in North Sinai, announced Military spokesperson Tamer el-Refaei on Friday.

During the confrontation, a car bombing attacked a number of military troops, killing and injuring 26 personnel, Refaei added.
