CAIRO – 5 July 2021: The Egyption armed forces is fully aware of all the changes and challenges that the region is going through of which directly reflected on the Egyptian national security, and based on that awareness, we do whatever it takes to maintain the highest levels of preparedness, Egypt's Armed Forces Spokesperson Gharib Abdel Hafez said.

He added in statements, Sunday to Sada al Balad news channel that, “In light of Egypt’s Military capabilities and its high deterrent power, it is not wise to test its reaction”

He shed light on the newly-inaugurated military base, the 3 July Base, in Gargoub on the northwestern coast near Libya, noting that the Armed Forces always work on upgrading and qualifying the naval forces through providing them with the world's most advanced weapons and equipment to secure the sea borders.

He noted that the Armed Forces established several military bases over the past period, including “Mohammed Naguib” base in July 2017, which considered to be largest military base in the Middle East.

Then, Egypt inaugurated Sisi Baranui Military Base which secures the western region and has the ability to carry out any missions to secure this strategic area.

Abdel Hafez added that in January 2020, Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inaugurated Berenice military base in south of Red Sea to secure Egypt’s coasts along with the southern strategic direction to face any threats that affect the country’s national security.

“Finally, the inauguration of the 3 July Base on Saturday, comes as an addition and extension to the development process for the armed forces which includes adding news weapons and technology” Abdel Hafez said.

He described the 3 July Base as an “comprehensive” base located in a very strategic place which was carefully chosen.

“All this maximizes the ability of the Military to prevent infirtlation and smuggling across the Egyptian coasts, carry out search and rescue missions, prevent illegal immigration, and secure the state’s vital goals and economic gains.” Abdel Hafez added

He explained that the inauguration of the base coincided with "Qader 2021" maneuver, which reflects the readiness of the armed forces forces, high-end training and high combat readiness to achieve security and stability, and preserve the economic wealth of the Egyptian state, in order to confront the challenges facing the country on all strategic directions.

Egypt’s Ministry of Defense published a video for a major comprehensive maneuver dubbed “Qader 2021”, Sunday. During the maneuver, all military branches participated in integrated land, air, marine and submarine exercises to destroy and take over enemy units. All forces took part in implementing 39 different training activities.

The Military spokesperson noted that “There is an integration between all military bases that have been established, which allows the armed forces to counter all challenges facing the country, currently or in the future.”
