CAIRO – 15 June 2021: The Ministry of Youth launched the Nation Builders Leadership Conference June 13-16 in cooperation with the U.S. embassy in Cairo to help enhance young people’s leadership skills and unleash their talents.

The program will be held in the Civic Education Center in Gezira district in Cairo, where participants will be trained on effective leadership, discovering their talents and skills, understand and apply the natural abilities on an individual, and teamwork, ultimately creating positive change in themselves and their society, according to a Tuesday statement by the ministry.

The program also aims to distinguish between the talent, knowledge, intelligence, skill, and ability that a person possesses. During the three-days of the conference, participant projects will be presented in a competition.

Nation Builders Conference is a U.S. non-profit organization that endeavors to “prepare youth to influence their peers, government, and economy as agents of change at the local through global levels,” according to its website.

In April, founder of Nation Builders Conference, Mason West III, held a Zoom meeting between Egyptian and U.S. students to develop a comprehensive program on leadership and negotiations skills that cover the goals of sustainable development in relation to youth.

The training was both theoretical and practical. It will extend virtually over Zoom, where another competition will be held between Egyptian and U.S. students, and five Egyptian winners will travel to the U.S. in a cultural exchange and leadership mission.

For his part, U.S. Ambassador to Cairo Jonathon Cohen said the Nation Builders Leadership Conference is another contribution by his country, which has invested more than $350 million since 1978 in scholarships, exchange opportunities and training programs for Egyptian youth.
