CAIRO – 8 July 2017: United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Egypt John Casson in a Friday press statement from the British embassy condemned the terror attack that killed and wounded at least 26 servicemen at an army checkpoint in North Sinai.

“I am disgusted by the terrorist attack on members of the Egyptian Armed Forces as they did their duty in Rafah, North Sinai today,” Casson tweeted. “On behalf of the British Government, I condemn it wholeheartedly.”

The statement added that the United Kingdom will continue to stand with Egypt in the battle against terrorism and the extremism that feeds it.

The statement further said that these inhuman attacks, whether in Egypt or in England, only strengthen our determination to defeat the terrorist killers.
