CAIRO – 28 May 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi was keen on Friday to make an inspection tour to follow up on new roads and axes and developmental projects in east Cairo, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

The president was also keen to speak to a number of citizens who were present at the scene. He checked their living conditions and listened to their requests, Radi said.

Sisi’s tour included inspecting Abdel Hamid Badawy street, Heliopolis, including its intersection with the Autostrad Road, which were both expanded to have six lanes for each. They extend to Nasr City district.

The president also inspected the work to expand and improve the efficiency of Sheraton district’s interior streets to ease traffic and link it to the main axes, Radi said.

The spokesman noted that the district includes 12 streets with a total length of 14 kilometers.

Utility network in this area was developed through replacing and renewing water supply lines with a total length of 35 kilometers, Radu said.

He noted that a sewage line on the Autostrad road was also constructed with a length of 2 kilometers to serve the future residential communities. A rain drainage network was also constructed.
