CAIRO – 7 July 2017: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived Friday in the German city of Hamburg to attend the G20 summit meetings of the world's major industrial countries, which will last for two days.

Putin will meet with leaders of the United States, France, Germany, Turkey and the prime ministers of Japan and Australia, Sputnik news agency reported.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will also meet with his US counterpart Rex Tillerson.

Putin wrote in an article published in the German newspaper Handelsblatt that the G20 summit has proved itself over the past years as a mechanism needed to coordinate interests among the leading economies of the world.

The Russian president stressed he welcomed the inclusion of issues such as combating terrorism, corruption, migration and climate change on the agenda of the G20 summit.

The G20 group represents two-thirds of the world's trade volume and also accounts for more than 90% of global output.
