CAIRO - 9 May 2020: The number of Egyptians who were vaccinated against coronavirus since the launch of the vaccination campaign reached 1.3 million, Assistant Health Minister Mohamed Hasani said on Sunday.

In statements, he said 2.4 million people have registered so far on the ministry’s website to receive vaccinations.

He added that Egypt has so far received over 2.5 million doses of coronavirus vaccines, saying non-Egyptians are being treated like Egyptians as regards free vaccination.

The vaccination campaign relies on the Chinese Sinopharm and the British-Swedish Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines, both of which were authorized for emergency use earlier this year.
