CAIRO - 27 April 2021: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said on Tuesday that the State carries out various mega projects to make use of every drop of water.

Speaking at a ceremony on the occasion of launching the national program for structural reforms, Madbouli said the wastewater treatment and irrigation projects constitute a challenge to the Egyptian state to maintain its water resources in light of overpopulation.

The water share per capita in Egypt is 600 cubic meters a year, while the international water poverty line is 1,000 cubic meters per capita, the premier said.

Egypt works on several axes to overcome the issue of limited water resources though the use of triple treatment of wastewater and seawater desalination, he noted.

The Egyptian state is working on all fronts to deal with the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the premier noted.
