CAIRO – 14 April 2021: Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed said that the videos of its “Speak Arabic” initiative has garnered 174 million views and shares on social media platforms.

The initiative promotes Arabic language and Egyptian culture among the second and third generations of the Egyptians abroad, with the aim of linking them to their motherland.

The initiative also targets non-Egyptian Arabic speakers who want to learn the language.

The ministry announced that it is currently working to launch “Speak Arabic” mobile application to reinforce the aim of the initiative and enhance its implementation.

Launched in October 2020, the initiative is concerned with spreading Egyptian customs and traditions, and preserving the Egyptian identity among expats.
