CAIRO – 24 March 2021: A total of 30,000 persons have received the COVID-19 vaccine in Egypt so far, and the Ministry of Health targets to reach 250,000 persons during the current week.

 

New batches of coronavirus vaccines have arrived in Egypt, with authorities are expanding the number of health units providing the vaccines to reach 5,000 units.

 

Head of the Preventive Medicine Sector at the Ministry of Health Dr. Alaa Eid said that the mutated strains of Coronavirus have not reached Egypt yet, and that the country is still witnessing the second wave of the virus.

 

Dr. Eid further said that Egypt will have 1.5 million vaccine doses by the end of the current month. A total of 488,000 persons have registered online so far to receive the vaccine.
