CAIRO – 18 April 2024: Egypt’s House of Representatives, led by Speaker Hanafi Jabali, will reconvene its plenary sessions starting Sunday, April 21, 2024 at the new headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, departing from the old location in Tahrir, downtown Cairo.

According to the House’s regulations, general sessions are scheduled for April 21, 22, and 23, 2024.

The inauguration of the House of Representatives' headquarters in the New Administrative Capital took place on April 2, 2024. Its inaugural session marked a significant political event that witnessed the attendance of the President of the Republic of Egypt.

The project spans 25.87 acres, with a total built-up area of approximately 181.8 thousand square meters, representing a construction rate of 12.9 percent of the total area.

The plenary session hall of the Administrative Capital’s House of Representatives has a circular design and comprises three floors.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi took the constitutional oath before the Parliament during its inaugural session. El-Sisi secured victory in the presidential elections in December 2023 with 89.6 percent of the vote.

The American magazine Engineering News-Record, known as ENR, has confirmed Egypt's significant construction surge, with the focal point being the establishment of the New Administrative Capital. This ambitious project aims to relocate government headquarters to modern, state-of-the-art buildings. ENR noted that the creation of the new Parliament required over 16.5 million working hours.
