Germans are passionate with visiting Egypt's tourist destinations: DRV head

CAIRO - 8 March 2019: During the second day of participating at ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat met with Norbert Fiebig, the president of the Deutscher Reise Verband (DRV), also known as German Travel Association.

In a Thursday statement, Mashat said her meeting with Fiebig tackled several issues regarding Egypt and Germany's relations on many levels especially tourism. Both of the officials started their meeting talking about the positive signs regarding the increasing tourist movement coming to Egypt, especially from the German market, which is considered one of the most important tourist markets for Egyptian tourism.

Fiebig affirmed that German tourists are passionate regarding visiting the historical sites in Egypt along with other tourist destinations, especially with the notable political and economic stability.

Mashat inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion at ITB Berlin on Wednesday, in conjunction with the event opening. The Egyptian pavilion is reported to be stretched over an area of 1,178 square meters.

ITB Berlin is known to be the world's largest tourism trade fair. The companies represented at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies. ITB Berlin takes place annually in March at the Messe Berlin (Berlin's exhibition grounds). 2019's ITB Berlin is expected to last until March 10.
