CAIRO, Jan 22 (MENA) - Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board at the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism Ahmed Youssef left Tuesday for Madrid on an official visit to participate in the 39th edition of the international tourism trade fair, Fitur, to open Wednesday.

Egypt's Ambassador to Spain Omar Selim will participate in the inauguration of the Egyptian pavilion at the five-day international event along with a delegation from the Egyptian governmental and private tourism sector.

Youssef underlined the importance of Egypt's participation in the Fiture which is the third-largest international tourist exhibition after the Berlin and London bourses.

The fair represents a good chance to meet partners and decision makers in the tourism sector from all over the world as well as tour operators and travel agencies operating in the Spanish market, Youssef said.

Youssef added that the event also provides an opportunity to meet with representatives of the international media outlets.

Twenty-six exhibitors representing tourism companies, hotels and airline companies along with EgyptAir are taking part in the Egyptian pavilion.

During the visit, Youssef will also attend the meetings of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) which will be held at the organization's headquarters in Madrid. The meetings will include the Tourism Investment and Business Forum for Africa (INVESTOUR).
