CAIRO – 11 September 2018: The Egyptian government will develop Qalyubia to bring tourists back to the governorate as it has been a favorite spot for several kings since Mohamed Ali.

Director of the Nile Walkway Project Talaat Sultan told Egypt Today that the project was established upon the directives of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and clarified that the president wants every citizen to enjoy their right to the Nile free of charge.

Sultan pointed out that the walkway will be opened for citizens free of charge and kiosks will be established to provide them with services, adding that the project is set to be completed within eight months.

He also said that the government will set a plan to develop Al-Qanater in cooperation with the ministers of antiquities and investment along with the establishment of an international museum worth LE 2 billion.

The governor of Qalyubia will meet with a Chinese delegation headed by the chairman of the Chinese Businessmen Association Wednesday to promote investment opportunities in Al-Qanater, an official in Qalyubia Governorate revealed.

On September 6, Qalyubia Governor Alaa Abdel Halim checked the River Nile walkway in Benha city worth LE 19 million.
