CAIRO - 2 June 2018: Egypt pays intensive attention to the history of the Holy Family's journey as to be announced by the UNESCO a world heritage, said Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani on Friday.

A scientific panel has been formed in cooperation with concerned bodies to document the historical trip, Anani told a ceremony held to mark the anniversary of the journey.

The event, held at the Coptic Museum in Cairo, was attended by Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark.

Pope Tawadros II attended the celebration that was organized by the National Egyptian Heritage Revival Association (NEHRA).

The national anthem was played and documentaries featuring the Holy Family's journey were displayed.

The event was attended by the ministers of antiquities, tourism, planning, immigration, culture and local development in addition to a raft of officials, statesmen and ambassadors.
