LUXOR, Egypt- 19 January 2018: The fourth edition of Zayed Charity Marathon in Luxor was wrapped up on Friday.

The race aims to support Shefaa Al Orman hospital in Luxor, for the free treatment of cancer patients and promote Egyptian tourism at the Arab and international levels.

The race started earlier in the day in front of Karnak Temple with a distance of 12 kilometers.

Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr and Juma Mubarak al Junaibi, the UAE Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League honored the top 10 winners.

As well, the first 500 winners along with the disabled who participated in the race were honored.

Sports and Youth Minister Khaled Abdel Aziz expressed happiness over the fourth edition of the charity race, stressing that the historic relations binding Egypt and the UAE support boosting bilateral cooperation in all fields.

He thanked all ministries and bodies which contributed to holding the event at such distinguished level.

A raft of officials, public figures and celebrities attended the inauguration of the Marathon.
