CAIRO – 24 December 2017: Emirates airline has cancelled 10 of its flights on Sunday morning due to heavy fogs, while its rival Abu Dhabi-based Etihad airways expects flight delays.

Christmas holidays are a high season for UAE’s airlines as people travel abroad to celebrate the festive period with their families or on vacation.

According to Emirate Airlines’ official website, all cancelled flights are between Dubai and Tehran, Bahrain, Dammam, Kuwait, Larnaca, Basra, Amman, Budapest, Hong Kong and Baghdad.

Etihad airways anticipates some flight delays and cancellations and some return flights to Abu Dhabi were expected to face disruption.

“Poor weather conditions had led to delays and cancellations of some of our flights on Friday and Saturday,” Etihad airlines said on its official Twitter account.
