Tourism influx in Sharm el-Sheikh and Dahab during Eid al-Adha

CAIRO - 5 September 2017: As Eid al-Adha started on September 1, South Sinai has witnessed a surge in the number of tourists, especially in the cities of Sharm el-Sheikh and Dahab, al-Masry al-Youm reported.

Ahmed Ghobashi, the head of the tourism support coalition in Sharm el-Sheikh, stated it is the first time in years for Sharm el-Sheikh hotels occupancies to reach 100 percent. He noted that this marks a revival of the city’s return to being one of the leading tourist spots in the Middle East. The influx of Egyptian and Arab tourists led to a rise in the occupancies in Dahab to reach 85 percent.

The most attractive activities in Sharm el-Sheikh were the Dolphins shows, cruises and safaris.

It is worth mentioning that the security forces have intensified security presence in the checkpoints on the roads leading to South Sinai.
