CAIRO, 7 February 2021: Bayern Munich coach Hanz Flick praised his rival in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final, Al-Ahly.
"We had to win the Champions League in order to get here. We have a match almost every 3 days, so we have to take it step by step in training. From today we will work on intensive training for the match against Al Ahly," Flick said at the match press conference.
"Our goal is to win the championship, and we know that it is a burden on us, but we are excited and want to end the season by winning the sixth title," he added.
He stressed, "Of course, we have our mentality in the way of playing, with which we were able to win many matches. Our first goal is to cross this match, but it is important to always keep your eyes on the opponent."
On Al-Ahly, Flick said: "It is a team looking to play in an enjoyable manner, and they have a very flexible form at the offensive level, and they also have advantages on the defensive level. Their coach is very amazing, I just got to know him quickly."
Al-Ahly will face Bayern Munich in Doha on Monday, in the semi-final of the Club World Cup, after the Reds defeated Al-Duhail of Qatar 1-0 in the first round of the tournament.
