CAIRO – 26 June 2017: After the finishing of the group stage of Russia Confederations Cup we review the last standings of the groups, the qualifying teams and the upcoming matches in the semifinals.

Group A included Mexico, Portugal, New Zealand and Russia, the host country of the tournament, which only collected three points and occupies third place. Russia’s only win was against New Zealand, which has lost every match and sits at the bottom of the group. Portugal occupies first place with seven points, while Mexico sits at second place with seven points and a lower goal difference than Portugal.

Cameroon, who thrashed Egypt in the African Cup of Nations’ final earlier this year, currently sits at the bottom of group B. Cameroon managed to win a single point from its draw against Australia, who occupies third place with two points. Australia drew even against Chile, who occupies second place in the group with five points. Germany, the reigning world champion, occupies first place with two victories and a draw.

Portugal will face Chile on June 28 at 8:00 p.m. Cairo local time. Germany will play Mexico at the same time the following day, while the losing teams will face off for third and fourth place in the competition on July 2 at 3:00 p.m.
The tournament final will be played on July 2 at 9:00 p.m.
