CAIRO_3 July 2020: Premier League champions, Liverpool, suffered a humiliating 4_0 loss to the second-placed Manchester City on Thursday night at Etihad stadium.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp counted on his starting line-up with the aim of securing a victory over the Cityzens to add cherry to the title's cake.

However, Pep Guardiola's men spoiled the German manager's plan and destroyed the Premier League champions in a perfect style.

"We beat the champions, an extraordinary team. We are brave to play, they are brave to play. My team I like every single game. We tried to play football, take risks. The best team I have ever faced in my life at high pressing." Guardiola said after the game.

The home team ended the first half with a 3_goal lead by Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden while the fourth goal came at the second half after Liverpool substitute, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's attempted clearance find its way into the back of the net.

Liverpool secured the long-awaited Premier League title ahead of their journey to Manchester thanks to City's 2_1 loss to Chelsea last week
