CAIRO – 26 June 2017: Hossam Bakr Abdin, national team boxer, withdrew from the final of the African Boxing Championship in Brazzaville, Congo due to a fracture in his right hand on Sunday.

The injury prevented the player from competing in the final of the 75 kg weight class, after beating the Kenyan champion by knockout in the semifinals to win the silver medal.

Four Egyptian boxers, Yousri Rizk, Walid Said, Hossam Bakr and Islam El Gendy qualified for the World Boxing Championships, scheduled for August in Hamburg, Germany, after reaching the semifinal of the African Championship.
