CAIRO –23 June 2017: Barcelona forward Munir el-Haddadi wants to play in the country of his ancestry, Morocco, after representing Spanish national team in one occasion against Macedonia.

Haddadi after his participation against Macedonia in September 2014 never received a call from the Spanish first team, he only played with Spanish youth and Spanish U21 national teams.

Morocco wants the young player to participate with them and they asked FIFA to allow him to play with Morocco.

Haddadi was born in Spain and he started playing Football in small teams then he joined Barcelona academy when he was 16, he played for Barcelona second team before playing for the first team in 2015.

He won Champions league, 2 Spanish league titles and Spanish Cups in 2 years with Barcelona.

He went on a loan to Valencia last season where he scored 6 goals in 32 games according to whoscored.com.

Spain had a history with such cases, when Spain prevented Serbian-Spanish player, Bojan Krikic, and Spanish-Italian player Borja Valero from representing their home land.
