CAIRO – 15 June 2017: French international striker Karim Benzema’s return to the national team could still be possible, Le Figaro reported on Wednesday. The president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, told the newspaper they were also considering bringing in Real Madrid’s coach Zinedine Zidane to manage the national team in the future.

According to Le Figaro, Graët said “the French federation won’t buy Zidane from Real Madrid tomorrow because we would have to sell our headquarter in order to buy Zidane.”

Graët added that he has complete trust and confidence in Didier Deschamps, the current manager of the French national team.

“Deschamps performs an excellent job and he will remain with us for a long time,” Graët added.

Lastly, the president of the federation talked about Benzema’s possible return to the French National team.

“Benzema still remains an option and he could receive a call from the French National team. I hope he continues his great performance with Real Madrid,” Graët said.

The French Football team managed to score a 3-2 victory on June 13 in Stade de France in a friendly match against England.
