Swimmer and Pathology Professor, Dr. Sohair El-Attar, 74 years old, of El-Gezira Club, won the silver medal in the women's 200m backstroke (age group 70-75) in the 2019 World Masters held in Korea in 2019.

In the same championship, she won 4th place medal in 400 m freestyle, 50 m backstroke and 100 m backstroke.

Sohair Al Attar is Professor of Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University. She was a swimming champion with the Egyptian national team. She received many national awards, but stopped swimming for 8 years as she started working and got married.

Her family and friends convinced her at the age of 56 to participate in competitions, which she has been doing so since then and winning many international award.

She practices swimming 5 days a week in addition to jogging and biking.

Suhair is preparing to participate in another swimming championship in Alexandria, Egypt, next week, after returning from her successful trip in South Korea.
