CAIRO, 15July 2019: Senegal's Sadio Mane sees his team lucky in their 1-0 win over Tunisia on Sunday to qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Final.

“It was a very difficult game; we expected this scenario. If you want to win this trophy you must have victories like this,” Sadio Mane said to CAF.

The game extended till the extra time and the referee gave a penalty to Tunisia but then he pulled back his decision as Video Assistant Referee denied.

“You should also have some luck,” Mane added.

Senegal’s only appearance in the final was in 2002 in Mali and their current manager, Aliou Cisse, was the national team’s captain during the tournament.

Senegal lost the final to Cameroon by penalty shootouts and Cisse was one of the three players who missed a penalty.

Senegal players are expecting a tough final against Algeria on Friday night at Cairo Stadium and they hope to be Senegal’s first generation to win the AFCON title.
