CAIRO – 11 March 2019: Bayern Munich first choice striker, Robert lewandowski, missed the team training session on Monday and his participation against Liverpool at UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg is doubtful.

“Robert Lewandowski worked individually in the performance centre.” Bayern Munich statement said on Monday.

Lewandowski is the leading goal scorer at the German League having scored 17 goals this season including two goals at the team 6-0 victory over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The first leg in Liverpool ended with a goalless draw and the German team players hope to secure qualification to the quarter finals when they face Liverpool in Germany on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich Colombian midfielder, James Rodriguez, spoke to Bayern Munich official website ahead of the clash against Liverpool saying “We have to play a perfect game at home to go through. Liverpool have very fast players, they feel comfortable when you give them space. That's why we have to be very focused, highly motivated and play a good game."

Liverpool reached UEFA Champions League Final last season and lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in Kiev.
