Al-Ahly vs Pyramids clash to be ruled by Serbian referee

CAIRO- 3 January 2019: The referees committee of the Egyptian Football Assocation (EFA) announced the names of the Serbian arbitration team to rule the expected match between Al-Ahly and Pyramids.

Al-Ahly is set to face Pyramids on Friday at 6 p.m. (CLT) in a postponed match from the 8th round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The match will be ruled by Serb Danilo Grujić as the referee of the match, with his three assistants, Milovan Ristic, Dalibor Georgovic and Nenad Djokic.

The Serb referee is known by his high rate of showing Yellow cards to the players; he used the yellow card 724 times in 148 games.

In Al-Ahly’s camp, it’s reported that Ramadan Sobhy and Giraldo, new comers in the current transfer window, are waiting for their permission to play in the Egyptian league. Al-Ahly’ football manager, Sayed Abdelhafiz, confirmed that the players’ cards are hours away from arrival.

The Reds signed many players, since they lost the CAF Champions League final, like; Wadi Degla’s Mohamed Mahmoud, Primero Augusto’s Giraldo, Huddersfield Town’s Ramadan Sobhy and Al-Makssah’s Mahmoud Wahid.

This is Al-Ahly’s first game under the helm of new manager, Martin Lasarte; he starts the mission against the toughest opponent this season and the 2nd placed, Pyramids.

Pyramids, previously known by Al-Assiouty, has the power to compete in the current season of the Egyptian league especially after hiring Hossam Hassan as a manager.

The newly rich club, funded by Turk Al-Sheikh, signed Amr Marey, Eric Traroe, Hamed Hemdan and Ecuador’s Jhon Cifuente.
