CAIRO – 24 October 2018: ES Setif manager, Rachid Taoussi, revealed on Wednesday that he is satisfied with his players’ performance against Al-Ahly, although they were knocked out of the competition.

ES Setif defeated Al-Ahly 2-1 on Tuesday night but they could not reach the final as they lost the first leg in Cairo 2-0.

“Al-Ahly has many experienced players who can score goals once they have a chance and that is what happened in the game,” Taoussi told press after the game.

Walid Soliman opened the score for Al-Ahly after 60 minutes but the Algerian team did not take so long to respond as they scored two goals five minutes later.

Taoussi added “We bounced back after Soliman’s first goal and we were so close to achieving a historic comeback. It was our best game in the season so far.”

ES Setif needed two goals at the last 20 minutes to qualify to the final but Al-Ahly's defense stopped all their attempts to score.

Al-Ahly, who won a record of eight CAF Champions League titles, reached the final for the 12th time in their history and they will face Tunisian giants, Esperence, who defeated Angola’s C.D. Primeiro de Agosto 4-2 earlier on Tuesday.
