CAIRO – 7 August 2018: Chelsea Brazilian midfielder, Willian, believes that his team needs time to adapt with their new manager, Mauricio Sarri’s philosophy.

Willian participated in the second half of Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City at Community Shield game on Sunday.

“The beginning is always a little more difficult to adapt to a new style of play, which changes everything,” Willian told skysports on Monday.

Willian has been linked with a move to Barcelona but Chelsea rejected Barca’s bid and the Brazilian seems happy to stay in Chelsea and work under Sarri’s command.

“I've always made it very clear that I've always been very happy playing for Chelsea. I never said that I want to leave the club. I've had a very good conversation with the manager, so I hope we can enjoy a lot of victories," Willian added.

Chelsea will open their Premier League season on Saturday against Huddersfield Town at Kirklees Stadium.

Chelsea players hope for better results this season after they failed last season to secure a place at the UEFA Champions League as they finished the league fifth.
