CAIRO – 23 July 2018: Egyptian squash players, Mostafa Asal and Rawan el-Araby have won Men’s and Women’s World Junior Individual Championship titles, respectively, on Monday in Chennai, India.

Asal defeated title holder, Mostafa Tarek, 3-0 in a game that lasted for 45 minutes.

Asal won the three sets 11-7, 13-11 and 11-14 to grant Egypt the 13th title in the history of Men’s World Junior Championship.

On the other hand, Araby defended her title and defeated Hania el-Hammamy 3-1 at the final.

Araby won the sets 11-4, 11-9, 10-12 and 11-9 to grant Egypt the 12th title in the history of Women’s World Junior Championship.

Rawan was leading the third set 10-6 and she needed one more point to win the title but Hania’s comeback forced her to play a fourth set.

Rawan is the fifth player to win the title twice after Malaysia’s Nicol David, Raneem el-Weleily, Nouran Gohar and Nour el-Sherbini who achieved the title three times.
