CAIRO – 24 April 2018: Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah took the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 31 goals to be the Premier League top goal scorer, and his form surprised James Pallotta, president of his former club, AS Roma.

“Where I'm surprised is how great he's finishing. I think he would say that in Rome, while he had a bunch of goals, his frustration was not finishing the same way,” Pallotta told Sky Sports on Tuesday.

The Egyptian winger had an amazing two seasons with Roma, as he scored 32 goals and was named the best player on the team in both seasons.

Salah will face his former Roma teammates on Tuesday night when Liverpool hosts the Italian team in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.

“Do they have bigger nets in the Premier League? It's just been amazing watching him, and every time he scores, I'm like, ‘Oh dear God!’” added Pallotta.

Roma sold Salah to Liverpool last summer for a €42-million ($51-million) fee that could rise to up to €50 million according to his performance with Liverpool, and Pallotta believes that Liverpool signed Salah for a modest fee.

Pallotta said, “When you look at it now, you can say it's an unbelievable bargain. We can't tell you that anybody else was calling for Salah at anywhere near that kind of price, so there's a lot of teams that have missed out on the great play he's had this year."
